Currently, we are recruiting Tour Guides to join our team.

Job Description: The Tour Guide’s primary duties will include transporting and/or escorting groups on tours of cities, waterways and national parks, ensuring that prepared itineraries are met and that customers are being informed in an entertaining manner the location they are touring. The Tour Guide is also responsible for ensuring the safety of the group and ensuring that tour groups remain together.

At times, the Tour Guide will sell admission tickets for optional local activities. Other additional duties may include the planning and execution of recreational activities and resolving problems with itineraries, service and accommodations.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education

• High School Diploma
• Degree or Diploma in a tourism program is an asset but not required

Work Experience

• Previous experience in the capacity of a Tour Director and / or ESL teacher is an asset
• Experience driving buses or large vehicles

Personal Qualifications & Skills

• Possession of a Class 4 Driver’s license is a huge asset
• Personal Attributes: friendly, outgoing, communicative, approachable, responsive, highly motivated and hard working
• Possess leadership qualities
• Enjoy working with diverse groups of people
• Ability to solve problems and respond to changing conditions or unexpected events
• Awareness of safety issues
• Skill at budgeting time and money
• Willingness to work weekends including every long weekend
• Ability to speak multiple languages is an asset – please indicate the languages which you can converse in on the cover letter
